Avenair Mountain Cabin Rental FAQs

  • How and when do I pay for my reservation?
    You must have your reservation paid in full 3 days prior to check-in (14 days if paying with a check). Payments made, other than the initial 50% rent, should be made by calling 1-800-MTN-CABINS. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, personal checks, and cash.
  • Where are you located?
    We are conveniently located 90 minutes North of Atlanta, GA on Hwy. 515 in Blue Ridge, GA. For directions from several different directions please refer to the directions section of the website.
  • How do I get directions to the cabin?
    You will be provided with directions to your cabin upon check-in to the cabin.
  • Do you have pet friendly cabins?
    Yes, several cabins offer that amenity; with a non-refundable pet fee (Pet fee is $15.00 per pet per night.)- We do ask that you do not leave your pet unattended - please leave in a crate or kennel - a pet in an unfamiliar place can be full of anxiety. This a pet fee not a damage fee, any damage from your pet will come out of your Security Deposit.
  • Are the cabins close to one another?
    Some of our cabins are located in the general vicinity of other cabins but all cabins are privately owned and are spread throughout Fannin Counties.
  • Are there age restrictions on renting a cabin?
    Yes, you must be of "legal and responsible age" so we will not rent to anyone under 21 years old. The person making the reservation must be one of the guests who remain with the rental party throughout their stay. Parents please do not call to rent for high school or college parties as guests will be asked for proof of age at time of check-in.
  • What if we have a problem at the cabin?
    You just call our office number 1-706-632-0318, please do this from the cabin phone as we do not return calls to cell phones.
  • Can I check-in to my cabin after your office is closed?
    Yes, in your LEASE confirmation there are instructions - telling you how to check-in after the office is closed. Office Hours: Monday thru Friday 9:00 am to 4:00pm EST
  • Do you offer gift certificates?
    Gift certificates are thoughtful and unique gifts for friends, family, or business associates. You may specify a specific dollar amount on any gift certificate. To order please call the office at 1-800-MTN-CABINS or e-mail the request to avenair@tds.net
  • Do you have a No Smoking Policy?
    Yes all cabins are considered to be Non-Smoking and this policy will be strictly enforced and there will be additional cleaning charges should it be found that someone has violated the policy.
  • What are the ways to make a reservation?
    We offer 24/7 TRUE online booking from our web site, all calendars are updated by our computer, so they are always correct!!!! View availability and make your reservation online or call our office 1-800-MTN-CABINS. The 50% of rental is due upon making the reservation over the phone or booking online. THE PERSON BOOKING THE CABIN MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD AND MUST BE EITHER THE PERSON, OR SPOUSE OF THE PERSON, WHO’S NAME APPEARS ON THE CREDIT CARD.
  • Where are the cabins located?
    The cabins are located from approx. 10 to 35 minutes from the office and are spread throughout Fannin County. Most cabins are located on gravel roads. You should not need a special vehicle (4x4), but we do suggest you do not drive a sports car or other low sitting vehicle. Please check with the office regarding cabins that could require 4 x 4. If you are riding a motorcycle, please call the office first. Some cabins will be more difficult for a motorcycle to access. If you plan on towing a trailer, please call the office first so that we can advise if the cabin you will be staying at is accessible for a trailer.
  • What should we bring with us?
    All of our cabins provide linens, a start-up supply of paper products and fully equipped kitchens, so you need to bring only personal items (body soap, shampoo, hair dryer, etc�) and grocery items. It is recommended if you are there for an extended stay that you bring additional trash bags, paper products, and hand soap. Most cabins have a washer & dryer, if you would like to use the washer & dryer you will need to bring detergent.
  • Will my cell phone work at the cabin?
    Cell phone service is somewhat sporadic in the mountains. Most of our cabins will allow you to use VERIZON and/or CINGULAR; but some of our cabins have no cell phone service available at all. NEXTEL stops working about 45 minutes south of Blue Ridge. It will not pick up anywhere in this area.
    Each cabin has a landline which provides local calling. Please bring a prepaid calling card for making long distance calls.
  • Are there grocery stores in the area?
    There are several grocery stores nearby. There is an Ingles and a Food Lion located in Blue Ridge.
  • Can you get alcohol in the area?
    You can purchase package beer and wine in Blue Ridge or Copperhill, TN. The restaurants in Blue Ridge do not serve beer or wine by the drink and you cannot bring your drinks into the restaurants in the city limits. Copperhill, TN has beer by the drink in the restaurants. You can purchase alcohol either in Ellijay, GA or Murphy, NC. Both of these cities are about 45 minutes from most of the cabins.
  • Is firewood provided at the cabin?
    For cabins with wood burning fireplaces, firewood is provided. The fireplaces do not have a gas starter so, if you are not proficient at starting a fire without one, you might want to bring small “Duraflame” type logs or “Fire Starters”. Firewood is provided only for wood burning fireplaces. Firewood is not provided for fire pits and outdoor fireplaces. You may not cut wood surrounding the properties but small bundles of wood can be purchased at the local gas stations and grocery stores. ABSOLUTELY NO LIQUID ACCELERANT IS ALLOWED!!! These are very dangerous to you and our property.
  • What is the check-in/check-out policy?
    CHECK-IN IS AT 3:00 PM Please do not attempt to check in early unless previous arrangements have been THROUGH OUR OFFICE, Early check-in’s are rare, but we will make every effort if a request is made at time of booking. Please call 24-48 hours prior to arrival to verify availability. There is an extra charge for this. For Late & Sunday Check-Ins Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 4:00PM. Your package will be located in the LOCK BOX at our office. It is the guest’s responsibility to bring this info to open the lock box with you. It will contain all the information you need for check –in to your cabin.
    CHECK-OUT IS AT 11:00AM: It is our mission to provide the cleanest cabins possible so that our guests will come back to us in the future! This 4 hour window allows just enough time for the cabin to be cleaned and for the hot tub to be sanitized between guests. Please help our housekeeping staff meet their schedule without inconveniencing the next guest by checking out on time and following the check out procedures handed to you at check-in.
  • Can I watch TV at the cabin?
    MOST of our cabins are equipped with Satellite or Cable TV. All cabins do have at least one TV, a VCR, and/or a DVD player. The cabin description will let you know what is offered.
  • Will I need 4-wheel drive to get to the cabin?
    Not usually. The roads to the cabins are well maintained so you should be ok. However, you need to remember that most of our cabins are going to be on gravel roads. If you are trying to decide between the Corvette and the Jeep, do yourself a favor and bring the Jeep.
  • Do I have to drive up any winding, mountain roads?
    Yes, but there's nothing to worry about. The roads aren't treacherous.
  • Where can we eat?
    There are many places locally to dine in Fannin and surrounding counties. We would like to suggest however on our web site you will find a full listing of dining. 
  • Is there a minimum length of stay in the mountain cabins?
    Avenair Mtn Cabin Rentals generally has a two-night minimum. A 3-night stay is required on select holidays throughout the year. Please check online or call the office at 1-800-MTN-CABINS to find out exact holidays. Arrangements for a 1 night stay can be made after 12:00 p.m. on the day of the reservation (Friday for a weekend stay) pending availability.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
    CANCELLATION - A $30.00 administration fee is assessed for all cancellations. However, if Guest(s) cancel less than fourteen (14) days prior to their arrival date in cabin, mountain homes and condos (30 days on lake properties all
    properties located on or access to Lake Blue Ridge) Guest(s) advance payment will be forfeited. No Cash Refunds Are Given! (For a refund of monies, cancellation must be in writing and sent certified mail and received 14 days (30 days for all lake properties) prior to arrival date (less a $30.00 administration fee per property).   • Lost and Found
  • We hold all items left behind by guests for 7 days. Please make arrangements by Fed-Ex or UPS to pick up your items during our normal office hours. We will have it boxed and ready to go. You must contact us on a pick up day and time.
