Experience Living History on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway
The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is one of the "must see" attractions in the north Georgia mountains. The railroad connects the towns of Blue Ridge and McCaysville and offers a journey along the beautiful Toccoa River. Board the train at the historic depot in Blue Ridge. Open April through December. Fall in Love with the Mountain Towns of Blue Ridge & McCaysville
The charming mountain towns of Blue Ridge and McCaysville each have a distinct character and history. Downtown Blue Ridge offers eclectic shopping and dining in a quaint small town setting. With the historic Blue Ridge Depot at its center, Blue Ridge is a center for arts and galleries, antiques, unique shopping and eateries. 

The Toccoa/Ocoee River runs through the authentic mountain town of McCaysville, destination of the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway's journey. Cross the Blue Line in McCaysville and you're in Copperhill, Tennessee. McCaysville and Copperhill are the heart of the Copper Basin, with a rich history in mining. 
To learn more about the mining history of the Copper Basin, visit the Burra Burra Mine and Museum in Ducktown, Tenn. 

Homegrown - Homemade Blue Ridge
Buying local fruits, vegetables and homemade goodies is a big part of the Blue Ridge experience, especially when it includes a visit to Mercier Orchards, largest orchard in the southeast and family farm for 65 years. Mountainview Orchards, on Mobile Road in McCaysville, is an old fashioned apple orchard and fruit market you also won't want to miss. For local farm produce and handmade arts and crafts, visit the Blue Ridge Farmer's Market, held each Saturday in Downtown Blue. Also check out the Blue Ridge Market at the old Farmer's Market on Old Highway 76 near the Swan Drive-in.

Blue Ridge On Ice

Discover Natural Water Parks at the Ocoee Whitewater Center
Take the family to the Ocoee Whitewater Center, site of the 1996 U.S. Olympic Canoe/Kayak/Slalom events. There are great spots for wading and sliding on rocks at this natural water park. (Weekdays, and be sure to wear water shoes). The Whitewater Center has nationally recognized mountain bike trails on the Tanasi System, but there are plenty of flat paths for family rides.
